About Us
The Diocese of Phoenix Catholic Committee on Scouting is a group of volunteers dedicated to promoting Catholic Scouting in the Diocese of Phoenix. The Chair and Chaplain are appointed by the bishop of Phoenix. The members are made up of concerned Scout leaders registered in Boy Scouts of America, Girl Scouts USA, Camp Fire, and American Heritage Girls. Originally, the membership was made up of BSA Scouters. Membership has been expanded to Girl Scout and American Heritage Girls leaders. The committee meets quarterly, and as needed for event planning and coordination.
Throughout the year, the committee hosts religious emblems counselor training, a religious retreat, religious emblem board of review, youth religious award ceremony, and Bishop’s dinner.
